The Challenge

Why Pigmentation Treatment Needs More Than Creams

Uneven tone that will not fade

Uneven pigment is one of the most common reasons people feel their skin looks older or tired. Years of sun leave brown spots on the cheeks, forehead and hands. Hormones can trigger the patchy shadowing of melasma. Old breakouts leave red and brown marks long after the pimple is gone, and redness around the nose and cheeks can make skin look flushed. Concealer hides the problem for a day, and brightening serums often work slowly, if at all, on pigment that sits deeper in the skin.
Exion Clear delivers radiofrequency energy that heats the skin in a controlled way, helping break up excess pigment and encouraging healthy skin renewal. The same treatment also softens the texture of acne scars and post-acne marks, so one plan can address tone and texture together. It is designed for the face, neck and décolletage, it is not meant for active acne, and it asks for very little downtime from your routine.

Understanding the Technology

What Is Exion Clear Pigmentation Treatment?

Radiofrequency for tone and scars

Exion Clear is a radiofrequency treatment on the FDA-cleared BTL Exion platform, used at our Franklin studio for red and brown pigmentation, sun spots and acne scars. It is not a laser and it is not designed for active acne. Pigmentation disorders range from sun spots to melasma, so Nancy first identifies what you have.

Controlled radiofrequency heat reaches the skin below the surface, helping disperse excess pigment and prompting collagen renewal that smooths scar texture. Sessions feel warm and are easy to tolerate. Spots fade gradually as skin turns over, and results build across a series.

Your Visit

What Happens During Exion Clear Treatment

Simple and comfortable

  1. Consultation

Nancy reviews your skin history, sun habits and goals, then maps the areas of pigment to treat.

  2. Cleansing

Nancy cleanses the skin thoroughly so the Exion Clear applicator glides evenly across each area.

  3. Treatment

Nancy moves the Exion Clear applicator across the face, neck or chest while you feel gentle warmth.

  4. Aftercare

You leave with sunscreen guidance and gentle skincare tips so pigment keeps fading between sessions.

Side Effects and Safety

Exion Clear is non-invasive and needle-free, and most reactions are mild and short-lived. Temporary warmth, pinkness or slight swelling in the treated area usually settles within hours. Skin may feel a little dry for a day or two, so a gentle moisturizer helps.

Any heat-based treatment carries a small risk of irritation or temporary darkening, especially in skin prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Nancy reduces that risk with conservative settings and careful screening. Sun exposure after treatment can cause pigment to return, so daily sunscreen is essential.

We do not treat over active breakouts, open wounds or infections. Any mole or spot that is changing, irregular or bleeding should be evaluated by a dermatologist before cosmetic treatment. Call (615) 628-7419 if you have questions after your visit.

Pigmentation Treatment FAQ

How much does hyperpigmentation treatment cost in Franklin, TN?
Pricing for Exion Clear is personalized and quoted at your consultation. The total depends on the areas treated, such as the face, neck or décolletage, and how many sessions your pigment needs. Nancy will explain the recommended series and the cost before you commit, and patient financing through Cherry is coming soon for clients who prefer monthly payments.
How long does an Exion Clear session take?
Most Exion Clear sessions are short enough to fit into a lunch break. Timing depends on whether we treat the face only or add the neck and décolletage. Plan a little extra time at your first visit so Nancy can review your skin history, photograph your pigment and set up the treatment plan with you.
Does Exion Clear hurt?
Most clients describe Exion Clear as warm and very tolerable rather than painful. The applicator glides across the skin while radiofrequency energy delivers controlled heat, and Nancy checks your comfort throughout the session. Settings can be adjusted at any point, so tell her if an area feels too warm and she will fine-tune the treatment.
When will I see my brown spots and red spots fade?
Most clients notice gradual fading over the weeks that follow each session rather than an overnight change. Pigment lightens in stages as the skin renews itself, so the clearest comparison comes after the full series is complete. Results vary with the type and depth of pigment, your skin type and how consistently you protect your skin from the sun.
How many sessions of Exion Clear will I need?
Most clients need a series of sessions spaced a few weeks apart rather than a single visit. Lighter sun spots may respond sooner, while stubborn melasma or long-standing acne marks often need more sessions. Nancy recommends a specific number at your consultation after assessing your pigment, and maintenance visits can help protect your results over time.
Can Exion Clear help with melasma?
Exion Clear can be part of a melasma treatment plan, but melasma is a chronic condition that tends to return with sun, heat and hormonal changes. Energy treatments work best alongside strict daily sunscreen and a supportive home routine. Nancy will be honest about what to expect and may suggest you also see a dermatologist for prescription options.
How does Exion Clear compare to IPL or a chemical peel?
Exion Clear uses radiofrequency energy rather than light or acid to treat pigment and acne scars. IPL photofacials rely on light that targets pigment, and chemical peels exfoliate the surface with downtime that varies by depth. Exion Clear offers a gentle, low-downtime path for many skin types. Nancy can explain which option suits your skin at a consultation.
Is Exion Clear safe for darker skin tones?
Radiofrequency energy heats tissue without relying on pigment as its target, which is one reason RF-based treatments are often considered for a wide range of skin tones. Every skin is different, so Nancy reviews your history of post-inflammatory darkening and adjusts settings conservatively. Clients from 18 to 85, men and women, are welcome to book a consultation.
Can Exion Clear treat active acne?
No, Exion Clear is not a treatment for active acne. It is designed for red and brown pigmentation, sun spots and the marks and scars left behind after breakouts have healed. If you currently have active breakouts, we recommend getting them under control with your dermatologist or physician first, then booking Exion Clear to address what remains.
Who is a good candidate for pigmentation treatment?
Good candidates are adults with brown spots, sun spots, red pigmentation or acne marks on the face, neck or décolletage who want a non-surgical option. You should be willing to complete a series and wear sunscreen daily. People who are pregnant, have implanted electronic devices or have an active skin infection in the area should wait.
